Meet PBN — The Vision Behind Playback Creates

“Talent is everywhere, but opportunity isn’t. We exist to give creatives the support, development and direction they need to build real futures” ~ PBN

Dr Harpreet Jandu, professionally known as PBN, is a multi-award-winning South Asian music artist, producer, and cultural advocate. With a career spanning over two decades, his work has helped define the global Bhangra sound and inspire a new generation of artists. He has achieved multiple No. 1 singles, toured internationally, and amassed millions of global streams, securing his place as one of the leading figures in British Asian music.

Beyond his own catalogue, PBN has played a significant role in shaping the next wave of South Asian talent. His hands-on approach to artist development has helped launch successful careers, equipping emerging creatives with the tools, confidence, and industry insight needed to thrive in a competitive landscape.

PBN’s contribution to culture extends beyond recorded music. He served as Music Director for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, where he championed authentic South Asian representation on a global stage.  His creative work also spans theatre and screen, having collaborated on productions that centre South Asian storytelling and music within mainstream spaces.

In recognition of his cultural impact, PBN was awarded an Honorary Doctorate by the University of Wolverhampton, where he is now proudly establishing Playback Creates – a new platform dedicated to developing, platforming, and celebrating South Asian talent across the creative industries. He also sits on the board of Punch Records, contributing his industry expertise to support emerging artists and drive cultural innovation.  As a Creative Director, he leads Playback’s mission to develop, platform and celebrate South Asian talent and culture across the Creative Industries.
